How can you make the baby’s skin fair?
As a parent, you might worry about your baby’s skin tone and complexion. It should be understood that not all babies are born with fair skin. However, there are a number of remedies especially natural remedies which can be followed to make your baby’s skin glow. Since babies have a very sensitive skin that is easily prone to allergies and infections you should be careful about using any product on their skin.
There are plenty of traditional home-made natural remedies which can be used to lighten your baby’s skin. But they should be used properly. And you must be careful in case your child is allergic to any kind of ingredient. Artificial products are not much recommended due to the presence of chemicals in them.
Here are a few remedies to help you lighten your baby’s skin.
Massage is the key:
Since ages, coconut oil has been proved to do miracles. Massaging baby’s skin with coconut oil helps improve skin tone and strengthens your child’s muscles. Heating the coconut oil before massaging can leave a better impact. Ensure that the oil is warm enough to apply the baby, by feeling it on your skin itself.
Focus on the diet: Ensure that your child’s diet consists of fruits and vegetables and proper nutrition. The anti-oxidants in fruits reduces skin damage, in turn, enhances skin colour and texture.
Increase water intake: Keeping your child hydrated helps him flush out all the unwanted and harmful toxins from the body. It helps in lightening your child’s skin tone. Make them drink at least 6 to 8 ounce of water a day.
Grape Juice: If your baby is more than three months old, then grape juice is the best way. Fruits like oranges and grapes have nutrients which help in lightening skin tone. Since fruits do not have side effects, this will prove to be a great option to try out for your baby. Feed your child grape juice at least thrice a week.
Mint Leaves: Mint leaves have been the most reliable source of herbs since a very long time. A thick paste made from a handful of mint leaves can be applied on your kid’s face. If you follow the process regularly, you can see the results.
A mixture of turmeric and milk:
Apply this mixture to your kid’s face, arms and other body parts. The qualities of turmeric and protein in milk help moisturize the skin and lighten it. After cleaning the paste off their skin do not use soap or any other body wash. Use lukewarm water to clean.
Moisturize regularly: As mentioned earlier, the baby’s skin is prone to rashes and infections. To prevent their sensitive skin from any such bacteria, it is better to moisturize their skin every day. Make sure you wash your hands before touching your child’s skin. Because bacteria may cause infections.
Clean regularly: Baby’s skin is covered with a wax-like substance which gets peeled off eventually after two weeks of birth. However, it is advisable to clean the baby’s body regularly, with extra care near the mouth area and the diaper area.
Gram Flour Paste: A mixture of raw milk, gram flour, cream and turmeric. These ingredients must be mixed well and made into a thick paste and applied on the baby’s skin. Within 10 minutes when the paste becomes dry on the baby’s skin gently rub off the pack using a soft cloth or a cotton cloth.
Homemade baby scrub:
Scrubbing helps in exfoliating your baby’s dead skin cells which softens and lightens the skin. For the scrub, prepare a mixture of raw milk, rose water, chickpea powder and baby oil. Mix it well and apply it on your baby’s skin and gently rub it. This homemade scrub eliminates unwanted impurities from your baby’s skin and makes it more radiant. Be careful while scrubbing, you need to use the right massaging techniques otherwise your baby’s skin might hurt.
The above-mentioned tips and suggestions might help you in making your baby’s skin fairer. These tips are all natural and home-made remedies. It is highly advisable not to opt for artificial products since they may have side-effects on your baby’s skin. However, you can still consult a dermatologist for your baby’s skin and use the suggested and prescribed products.
