How to control the bad breath in the teenagers?
Teenagers are very conscious about their presentation and having bad breath could be quite disturbing and worry some. Interactions may seem difficult to you which in turn effects your confidence overall.
As a parent, it might not be a pleasant experience when you go closer to hug your teen or having them yawning in the car or any such thing when they have issues with the smell of their breath. But before control, you need to help your child with assurance and awareness about the situation. You need to put forth his/her bad smelling breathe in an appropriate and relaxed manner, so as you do not hurt your child. And you need to do it before anyone else does in a rude slang.
Your teen needs to know that bad breath is of no indication of personal failure and is quite normal. You have to assure them that it could be dealt with and isn’t something to stress about. It can be caused by eating certain kinds of foods, as the odour from these foods is expelled from the lungs after they’re absorbed into the bloodstream such as garlic, onions, cabbage, and coffee are notorious in this regard. The other probability could be, the underlying dental or medical conditions (cavities or gum disease, could also be diabetes) or a dry mouth and at times certain lifestyle choices like cigarette smoking or tobacco.

So being careful while you brush after every meal and gargle nicely to try and keep your mouth clean. Ask your dentist if there are any better ways to keep your mouth fresh.
The kind of food we eat may also be a problem when it comes to bad breath. Particularly when teens eat sweet and sticky food, it forms a layer of plaque that leads to bacteria between teeth making them smell. So, limit sweets and limit cavities and as an alternative eat fresh and crunchy fruits and vegetables and wash away food debris and bacteria before they start to be a problem.
Avoid Smoking: Teen who are into smoking cigarettes and other tobacco products often have a foul odour. The tobacco enters your lungs and comes out with each breathes. It leaves a bad smell recognizable easily. So, brushing or floss would not help fix this issue. You would need to quit smoking to avoid bad breath and staying healthy physically and orally. Drink lots of water. If you do not drink water for a long time which may lead to dry mouth and absence of saliva which helps bacteria grow.
There could also be a few other reasons for dry mouth and simple saliva formation methods, be toothpaste or chewing gum would help in. Visiting a medical professional would be the last sort if you are morally healthy and this is approved by your dentist, then the case could be a medical issue with kidney or lungs.
